1. Upon sitting down at the computer, the student powers it on and gets to a Windows login screen.

  2. For a first-time login, the student will choose “Other User” from the options on the lower left of the screen.

    1. Note: they may have to hit a key (any key) to bring up the login screen, else it will be a splash page, usually a picture of a landscape).

  3. The user will be presented with a USERNAME and PASSWORD field.

  4. The USERNAME is the student’s ID.

  5. The PASSWORD is the student’s birthday, in numbers, with leading zeroes.

    1. E.g. “07122001” for a birthdate of July 12th, 2001; “11202002” for a birthdate of Nov 20th, 2002

  6. If this is the student’s FIRST TIME LOGGING IN WITH THIS ACCOUNT, they will get a message informing them that they need to change their password. The student will change the password to whatever they like. (It can be the same as their email, though it does not necessarily have to be).

  7. If the student has already changed their password in the past, they will simply log in with their new password.

  8. If these steps are followed, the student will be logged into windows and may use the computer normally thereafter.
